COS Racing team rider Chris Murphy continued his strong season with multiple victories at the 2018 U.S. Paralympics Track Cycling Open. Murphy won the C5 1K time trial and the C5 4K Pursuit. Additionally, he took gold as part of the C1-C5 Mixed Team Sprints team while achieving a second place finish in the Scratch Race. The U.S. Paralympics Track Cycling Open was held in Carson, California on 10-11 February 2018.

On 25 January 2018, U.S. Paralympics named COS Racing Team rider Chris Murphy and 26 others to the 2018 U.S. Paralympics Cycling National Team. Chris is one of eight World Champions returning to the National Team. Chris won gold in the C5 1km time trial and the team sprint at last year’s UCI Para-Cycling Track World Championships in Carson, California.
According to a press statement released by U.S. Paralympics, “U.S. athletes will kick off the 2018 international competition season with track world championships in Rio de Janeiro. The team will compete in world cup races in Ostend, Belgium, and Emmen, Netherlands, followed by the road world championships in Maniago, Italy. Team USA will close out international competition with the final world cup stop in Baie Comeau, Quebec.”
